Tryouts
There will NOT be tryouts for 10U girls or 14U girls this year, as each age level will have one team.
Spectators: Parents and spectators are NOT permitted inside the rink during tryouts but are welcome to wait in the lobby.
In order to give our evaluators the clearest picture please aim to attend all tryout sessions available for your skater's level.

Process
ARRIVAL & JERSEYS
First tryout session: Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your scheduled ice time to allow time for check-in and jersey assignment.
Remaining sessions: Please arrive no earlier than 15 minutes prior to your scheduled ice time.
Goalies: Exceptions may be made for goalies as needed.
Players will keep the same jersey throughout the tryout process. Do not lose, trade or exchange jerseys with another player.
THE TRYOUT PROCESS
Each session will include a combination of skating, skills, drills and game-like situations/scrimmage play. Players will be evaluated throughout the entire tryout process.
RFYHA has partnered with MAP/FHIT to independently conduct player evaluations and assist with team placement. The process will be coordinated with RFYHA coaches who have no family relationship to any player participating in tryouts, with additional on-ice support from our high school varsity boys and girls head coaches.
Team sizes will be established based on registration numbers, with appropriate team-size ranges provided to evaluators as a guide for team formation and final placement decisions.
TEAM PLACEMENT
Team placement decisions are based on the complete evaluation process and the needs of each team.
Team placement decisions are final.
The CPDC does not discuss, debate or make changes to team placement decisions made through the established team placement process.
