MAP/MEGA and CoachNow Welcome
Hockey Families & Coaches,
Welcome to the 2026–27 hockey season!
We are excited to once again partner with MAP Hockey and MEGA Goaltending as our player and goalie development partners this season.
Throughout the year, MAP and MEGA coaches will be joining our teams on Tuesdays to lead on-ice skill development sessions. These sessions are designed not only to provide additional development for our players and goalies, but also to be a resource for our coaches.
Coaches: These sessions are NOT a night off. We encourage you to be on the ice, assist, ask questions, and learn alongside the MAP and MEGA staff so the concepts being taught can continue to be reinforced throughout the season.
CoachNow App
Another important part of our partnership is the CoachNow app.
CoachNow gives River Falls coaches access to weekly, age- and skill-appropriate development content in three areas:
MAP Skating – A weekly skating technique and drill that coaches can incorporate directly into practices.
MAP Hockey IQ – A weekly hockey IQ theme or concept that coaches can share with their teams and reinforce on the ice to help players better understand the game.
MEGA Goaltending – A goalie-specific Theme of the Week accompanied by goalie drills, giving coaches the tools they need to make sure their goalies are receiving focused development throughout the season.
In addition to the weekly content, coaches will have access to the full library of MAP and MEGA development resources throughout the season. The goal is to give our coaches another tool they can use for practice planning, skill development, and reinforcing the concepts taught during the Tuesday sessions.
For our goalies and goalie families: CoachNow will also be used throughout the season to provide video feedback from select on-ice sessions, creating another opportunity for learning and development beyond the rink.
